All I ask is that you include: the name of the play & the playwright, the character name, and the act & scene where the monologue comes from. They can be from any play, contemporary or classical, for any age range, and for either sex. I hope to be able to make this blog a place where you can find monologues for just about anything so please feel free to submit any monologues you have. My acting teachers always say that you should read the entire play (sometimes multiple times) in order to get the circumstances of the piece you’re doing, however, I understand that this isn’t always realistic-especially if you have a last-minute audition-so along with the monologue itself I’ll also include a plot summary of the whole play and a brief description of the scene from which the monologue comes, plus the character’s name (and other relevant information) and also the line right before that leads into the monologue. I will post monologues at least once a day. Whether you’re looking for a monologue for an audition or a class or anything else, I hope you can find what you’re looking for here! Hello and welcome to the Monologue Archive!Īs a theatre student, I know how hard it can be to find the right monologue and how many times I wished there was a site or blog that catalogued monologues for free so I decided to start this blog to help other performers like myself.
